Academic and Intellectual

The Cambridge International Examinations Curriculum is used at Bingham Academy. A high school elective in IGCSE PE and Sport Science is offered. Extra-curricular activities are scheduled after school from 3:00 pm to 4:30 pm. The athletics program includes basketball, volleyball, and soccer for multiple age groups that compete in the local ISSAAA league, and cross-country with an annual Field Day track and field event.

Cultural and Language

International Day is an all-school event featuring cultural presentations, regional booths, and foods from various countries. Parents help by planning, contributing food, performing cultural dances and music, and decorating. The event showcases the diversity of the Bingham community and provides multicultural experiences for students.

Social and Hobbies

The athletics program includes basketball, volleyball, and soccer for multiple age groups that compete in the local ISSAAA league. Cross-country is available around the campus, and the annual Field Day track and field event is part of the program. Other staff-organized games include social sports such as soccer, rounders, cricket, tag rugby, and ultimate frisbee.

Leadership and Professional

The Guidance Counselor assists secondary students with schedules, course selection, and university/post-secondary preparation. The guidance office provides college research and planning resources to help students identify suitable universities. Portfolio development and college interview preparation resources are available for seniors. Career exploration materials support students in planning for life beyond high school.

Lifestyle and Wellbeing

A sports hall and gym provide indoor facilities for soccer, hockey, basketball, volleyball, badminton, and squash. There is a cross-country track around the campus for walking and running, and the field is used for social sports such as soccer, rounders, cricket, and tag rugby. Extra-curricular activities are usually scheduled from 3:00 pm to 4:30 pm. The school provides a Guidance Counselor and Student Wellness resources to support physical and mental well-being.

Bingham Academy is an international Christian school in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, serving students aged 4 to 18 and drawing families from thirty countries. The Cambridge International Examinations Curriculum is used from KG2 through Grade 12, preparing students for Cambridge IGCSE in Grades 9–10 and AS/A Levels in Grades 11–12. The campus features an Elementary Building with Amharic classrooms and an art room, and the Gowans Center houses secondary classrooms, science and computer labs, outdoor tutoring areas, plus offices for the Athletic Director and the Secondary School Counselor. The Graham Hay Memorial Library serves students and staff. The Athletics Facility includes a gym with a rock climbing wall, an outdoor basketball court, and Ricker Field; cross-country and Field Day are central to student life. Extracurriculars include basketball, volleyball, and soccer, Cambridge Arts & Design and Cambridge Primary Music, and International Day celebration. A Guidance Counselor supports college research and interview preparation.
