The Counseling Department addresses students' social-emotional needs, provides one-on-one counseling, runs small group and large group counseling, and educates students and staff on mental health and wellbeing.
Learning Support staff provide consultation to class teachers, in-class support, and small group targeted support; Learning Support coordinates exam accommodations with Cambridge International and other test providers; they work with Student Support Services to address academic, emotional, and social needs and partner with families to help each student reach their potential.
The Counseling Department educates students and staff on mental health and wellbeing and provides counseling to support mental health; the Student Health Department provides care for students who become ill and promotes healthy physical habits as part of overall wellbeing.
Bingham Academy has a Child Safety Policy; staff undergo police/background checks and receive child safety training annually; volunteers undergo checks and training; there is a robust process for investigating concerns; the school is a member of the Child Safety Protection Network.
Bingham Academy is an international Christian school in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, serving students aged 4 to 18 and drawing families from thirty countries. The Cambridge International Examinations Curriculum is used from KG2 through Grade 12, preparing students for Cambridge IGCSE in Grades 9–10 and AS/A Levels in Grades 11–12. The campus features an Elementary Building with Amharic classrooms and an art room, and the Gowans Center houses secondary classrooms, science and computer labs, outdoor tutoring areas, plus offices for the Athletic Director and the Secondary School Counselor. The Graham Hay Memorial Library serves students and staff. The Athletics Facility includes a gym with a rock climbing wall, an outdoor basketball court, and Ricker Field; cross-country and Field Day are central to student life. Extracurriculars include basketball, volleyball, and soccer, Cambridge Arts & Design and Cambridge Primary Music, and International Day celebration.
