The school is initiated by Ethiopians and Ethiopian-descendant Canadian visionary educators and socially conscious investors from Amigos and parents. The partnership aims to establish Africa Education and Training Service plc to invest in wider education and training services, including higher education opportunities with affiliation to international universities in Canada, teacher training and certification programmes, specialized and professional trainings, parenting training, education resource centers, printing, and school meals and school bus services. Canadian International School is the first phase investment of Africa Education and Training Service. With a commitment to academic excellence and affordable education, CIS-Ethiopia will offer scholarship programs for low-income students to promote social inclusiveness and create opportunities for all. Parent-project owners are central to the initiative, bringing resources and expertise from education, business, and leadership.
Canadian International School of Ethiopia offers a seamless international learning journey for students from Kindergarten through Grade 12. The school combines Pearson's British International Curriculum in the early years with a Canadian-based High School program, and includes Advanced Placement and university preparation courses to support global higher-education ambitions. Elementary and Middle School provide bilingual education opportunities in English and French, while High School leads to internationally recognized Canadian diplomas complemented by AP options. The campus features modern classrooms, laboratories, and technology-driven learning resources, with STEAM integrated into younger grades. The school emphasizes a global mindset, career counseling, and university pathways to top universities. Extracurricular activities and community engagement programs enrich students' development. Bilingual cultural and language opportunities, leadership development, and a play-based, wellbeing-focused Kindergarten program contribute to a holistic approach. The mission centers on inclusive, high-quality education that cultivates critical thinking and responsible global citizens, for a brighter future together.
