Flipper International School in Addis Ababa provides international education for ages 3 to 17, delivering a blended curriculum combining the Ethiopian and Cambridge curricula. Early Years use Montessori-inspired play-and-learn approaches to build foundational skills. The curriculum covers English, Mathematics, Science, Geography, Design & Technology, and ICT, with Amharic from Kindergarten onward and French from Grade 2. Environmental Science begins in Grade 1 and Citizenship from Grade 4 (in Amharic). Weekly Social Emotional Learning sessions support wellbeing across levels. Examinations include British National Examinations at Grade 1 and 5, Ethiopian National Examinations at Grade 8, and Cambridge assessments at primary and secondary levels, including Cambridge Primary Checkpoint, IGCSE, AS and A Levels. 1. Admission enquiry and application initiation. The school accepts an admission enquiry to begin the process and will reach out to schedule a campus visit and provide more information. Admissions Applications are completed by creating a profile on EDUKA and following the prompts to complete the student application. The 'Apply Now' link provides access to the online application. 2. Documentation and space-based enrolment. Enrollment is confirmed upon space availability. Parents/Guardians submit the completed child information form and copies of the child's passport or birth certificate, vaccination certificate, one passport-sized photograph, and the last progress report (where required for Prep and Grade levels). A signed letter of understanding of Flipper International School policies and Procedures is also required. 3. Entry level assessment. Entry-level assessment is required for admission at all class levels and is scheduled after registration and submission of all required documents. The New Parent Questionnaire (FIS-form 104) must be completed. The assessment can take 10 minutes to 1 hour depending on grade level. The assessment report is discussed privately with school administrators and will not be disclosed to parents on the same day; a follow-up meeting is scheduled to discuss the outcome. 4. Fees and payments. The Fees include a registration fee, a capital levy (one-time), a term fee, and an entrance exam/assessment fee, with amounts by grade level: Foundation - Prep 1: $90 / $895 / $1,200 per term / $100; Prep 2 - Grade 4: $95 / $895 / $1,300 per term / $100; Grade 5 - Grade 8: $105 / $895 / $1,400 per term / $100; Grade 9 - Grade 10: $120 / $895 / $1,600 per term / $100; Grade 11 - Grade 12: $150 / $895 / $2,000 per term / $100. All payments are non-refundable or non-transferable and are scheduled across three terms. Foreign nationals may settle payments in foreign currency according to the school's arrangements. A 5% sibling discount applies to the second child and a 10% discount applies to the third and subsequent children.
