The Buckswood School curriculum is based on the Georgian National Curriculum, with the traditions of the British school system and European educational innovations. The teaching approach combines age-appropriate modern methods, including VR and AR technologies, the flipped classroom, project-based learning, debates, and role-playing. Under the academic program, Buckswoodians study Georgian language and literature; Mathematics, logic and chess; Innovation and modern professions (programming, robotics, 3D modeling and printing, basics of industrial design); Foreign languages (English, German, French, Russian); An enhanced sports module (general health program, football, volleyball, artistic gymnastics, basketball and rugby); Natural Sciences (Nature/Natural Sciences, Physics, Chemistry, Biology); Social Sciences (Civic Education, History, Our Georgia, Geography, Civil Defense and Security); Art and music; Elective Module: World Literature and Introduction to Economics. A main innovation is replacing traditional class concepts with 'subject classes' that mix students by ability, sport preference, and house membership to foster socialization and rapid adaptation.
Art and music are part of the Buckswood curriculum. The house system supports creative expression by organizing performances and cultural events as part of house activities. These events provide opportunities for students to showcase creativity and collaborate on productions.
Foreign languages taught include English, German, French, and Russian. The school offers international study tours and a British exchange program. Model United Nations simulations are offered for student participation.
The Buckswood House System unites students from different grades into eight houses: Austen, Kipling, Bronte, Doyle, Milne, Rowling, School House and Wells. Houses compete in sports, academic competitions, social projects, and thematic events, and provide academic support to juniors. Prefects lead each house, and are selected annually by school staff as part of student leadership opportunities.
House activities include implementing social projects as part of inter-house competition. Houses organize and participate in community-focused initiatives. Senior students, including prefects, lead these initiatives as part of the school's community life.
Houses are led by prefects, who are senior students. Prefects are selected by school staff at the start of each academic year and are monitored and evaluated by school administration, teachers and the headmaster. The house system provides leadership opportunities and a platform for student leadership development.
An enhanced sports module emphasizes general health and fitness through football, volleyball, artistic gymnastics, basketball and rugby. The curriculum includes a general health program as part of the well-being focus. Sports and physical education support students' overall health and balance with academic life.
Buckswood International School Tbilisi is a day school serving ages 5–18 across two campuses, Gelovani and Tsqneti, with a Georgian National Curriculum foundation enhanced by British traditions and European innovations. The program blends Georgian language and literature, Mathematics, sciences, Art and music, and languages (English, German, French, Russian) with an Innovation and Modern Professions strand (programming, robotics, 3D modeling and printing, industrial design basics). It uses VR/AR, flipped classrooms, project-based learning, debates, and role-play, and replaces traditional classes with 'subject classes' grouped by track, house membership, age and gender balance to ease socialization and rapid adaptation. The school offers Pearson Edexcel IGCSE and, from 2026 on-site, A Levels at Tsqneti with examinations on campus. Daily life runs 9:30–17:00 with meals, extended day, and excursions; a dormitory is available at Gelovani. The Buckswood House System and international study tours broaden leadership, culture and global awareness.
