Let the school know you're thinking of applying — they can share their prerequisites and help you through the process.
It's best to ask — circumstances can change at any time.
Shared meals are a fixed part of the school day. Students stay in school until the afternoon, have lessons, or participate in after‑school activities. The midday meal and the afternoon meal, as well as a kiosk offering, are prepared daily in the school's own kitchen, which is about 100 square meters in size. Since March 2024, the school cooperates with the company Demi Catering, which deploys its own team in the kitchen. In designing the weekly menus, the school follows the recommendations of the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Ernährung (German Nutrition Society) and the Georgian government's guidelines for balanced and wholesome school catering, with sugar used sparingly. Seasonal fruit and vegetables available in Georgia and the traditions of Georgian cuisine are also taken into account.
The school is governed by the Verein zur Gründung und Förderung der Deutschen Internationalen Schule Tbilissi (Association for the Establishment and Promotion of the Deutsche Internationale Schule Tbilissi). Since the 2018/19 school year, governance comprises a General Assembly (Mitgliederversammlung) and a Board (VORSTAND). Board members are Dr. Sascha Ternes, Giorgi Batlidze, Dr. Lika Glonti, and Tea Tabagari. Governing bodies arising from the school and kindergarten community include elected parent representatives, elected student representatives, and an elected staff council. The Leadership Team consists of the Head of School and the Deputy Head, the Kindergarten Director, and the Administrative Director, together with board‑appointed representatives.
