St. George's Georgian-British School (BGS) in Tbilisi was established in 2003 as the first British-oriented secondary school, under the name British Connection. In 2013 it was renamed St. George's British-Georgian School, an international institution consisting of Primary (Key stage 1 and 2), Basic School (Key stages 3 and 4) and Secondary school (6th form). The school employs highly qualified local and foreign teachers and staff and has consistently been ranked among the top 3 international schools for university qualifying programmes. It is a registered centre for Edexcel International and UCAS, enabling students to obtain international qualifications and to sit iPrimary, IGCSE and A-Level exams, with 40% of alumni studying at European or American universities and 60% at Georgian universities. The school has an international character with highly qualified local and foreign teachers. The future is international, and English is the international language. The secondary stage uses a combined Georgian-British curriculum, with British qualifications taught in English and Georgian qualifications taught in Georgian. There is a maximum of 20 students in each class.
St. George's British-Georgian School in Tbilisi delivers a 12-year bilingual programme blending the Georgian National Curriculum with core English National Curriculum subjects. Instruction for British qualifications is in English, with Edexcel International GCSEs and Edexcel A Levels, while Georgian qualifications are offered in Georgian. The school begins intensive English from Year 1 and integrates Georgian subjects throughout primary. In the middle years (Grades 7–9) students study most English National Curriculum subjects alongside Georgian, with mixed-ability classes and a student-centred approach. In senior years (Grades 10–12) pupils pursue IGCSEs and may complete the Georgian National Certificate alongside Edexcel A Levels, enabling direct access to international universities. English, Mathematics, Science, History, Geography, and a Modern Language (Russian or Spanish) are central. Facilities include a science lab, a library, an art studio, a ceramics studio, and a universal stadium. The school offers internships and exchanges with Sidcot and Leighton Park, supporting progression globally.
