Billing schedule and payment terms
- Invoices are issued twice per year (September and January). Payment is due within one month of invoice issue. 50% of annual tuition is due at the start of the school year (September) covering 1 Sep–31 Jan; 50% is due in January covering 1 Feb–end of courses. Any semester started is due in full.
- An advance of EUR 500 on first‑semester fees is required (due in May); this advance is non‑refundable after 30 June and non‑transferable; failure to pay the advance can result in cancellation of the student's registration. A 5% penalty applies for late payment.
- A 2% reduction on the billed amount is applied if the family pays the entire annual tuition at the first payment and before the invoice due date.
Boarding fees
- Not applicable: the school does not operate a boarding (internat) service; no boarding fees are published.
Other compulsory or typical additional costs
- Mandatory school insurance (civil liability): EUR 39 per pupil (annual).
- Examination and certification fees (payable during the school year): Tests of entry EUR 50; Diplôme National du Brevet EUR 50; Baccalauréat général (1ère) EUR 137; Baccalauréat général (Terminale) EUR 183. Optional certification fees: IGCSE (Cambridge) approx. EUR 226; DELF junior approx. EUR 55–75.
- Textbooks and manuals: school rents manuals for primary/secondary; rental and pocket‑book purchase fees vary by class (examples): CP–CM2 rental/pocket book totals in the range of EUR 24–206 depending on level; specific amounts by year are published by the school. Stationery/supplies package (examples): Maternelle EUR 172; CP EUR 102; CE1 EUR 123; CE2 EUR 168; CM1 EUR 118; CM2 EUR 107; Primary overall EUR 97; Collège EUR 65; Lycée EUR 60. Charges for class projects, trips and optional activities are charged separately and are payable by families.
- School trips and pedagogical projects: optional trips and project costs are billed to families; participation fees must be paid by the announced deadline and unpaid accounts may exclude the pupil from participation.
Refunds and departures
- Registration fees (first registration and re‑registration) are non‑refundable in the event of cancellation. The EUR 500 advance on first‑semester fees is non‑refundable after 30 June and is not transferable. Any semester already started is due in full; departures during a semester do not give entitlement to a refund of amounts already paid for that semester. Reimbursement in the case of an awarded French scholarship (AEFE) is handled according to the scholarship percentage awarded.
Accepted payment methods and practical payment rules
- Accepted methods: bank transfer or bank deposit to the school's Ghana bank accounts; bank transfer to the French IBAN (Banque CIC Banque Transatlantique) is also provided; cheques are accepted only from Ghanaian or French banks made payable to “Lycée Français d'Accra”. Cash payments are not accepted. Proof of payment should be sent to the school's accounting contacts; a receipt is provided. Payments may be made in Euro or Ghana Cedi. Payments in Ghana Cedi are converted at the rate communicated by the accounting service at time of payment; US dollars are not accepted. Bank charges levied by sending banks are the payer's responsibility. A bounced cheque triggers a 5% penalty and the school may require alternative payment methods.
Late payment and non‑payment consequences
- After two written reminders, unpaid families may have the pupil excluded from classes; continued non‑payment can lead to non‑acceptance for the following school year. The school may propose an instalment plan in cases of genuine difficulty but it must be requested promptly and approved by the finance officer. Penalties apply for late payments.
