DSA has occupied a large Maroussi campus since 1968, designed by Graf Praschma and Morgenroth, with its character defined by the Greek marble on the façades. The complex includes specialist classrooms, an auditorium (Aula), sports facilities, and even an outdoor pool. In the 1980s, the library was expanded and a one-story primary school building was added, followed by the pool being enclosed and a cafeteria built, all to harmonize with the overall site. Between 2011 and 2016, new kindergarten and primary school buildings were constructed to address expanding needs, and in 2022 a new athletics sport arena opened, turning the DSA into a campus. The main building remains a symbolic center for generations of students, while newer structures express modern architectural language in harmonious architectural variety across the campus.
DSA offers extensive sports facilities as part of its campus, including multiple sport facilities and a modern athletics sport arena opened in 2022. The campus also includes a swimming pool that has been roofed, reflecting ongoing infrastructure upgrades.
Academic facilities include specialist classrooms for different subjects and an auditorium. The library was expanded in the 1980s, and between 2011 and 2016 new kindergarten and primary school buildings were added to the campus, aligning with the overall educational spaces.
Extracurricular activities focus on experiences beyond the classroom, social engagement, European programs and competitions, and hosting large events that bring together Greek and international schools. The program includes DSA remembers, social engagement initiatives, competitions, European projects, the DSA Running Team, and Oktoberfest.
Deutsche Schule Athen (DSA) is a German overseas school in Athens, founded in 1896. It serves students from ages 3 to 18, offering Kindergarten through Sekundarstufe II, with a final DIA qualification that enables access to higher education in Germany and many countries. The curriculum is German, with a pronounced Greek emphasis, and instruction is bilingual: many subjects are taught in German while others are taught in Greek. At Profil D (grades 5–12) and Profil E (7–12), German instruction remains central, with electives such as Altgriechisch, French, and Informatik to broaden study options and future pathways. The school maintains a Maroussi campus with classrooms, an auditorium, a roofed outdoor pool, and a new athletics arena (opened 2022). DSA offers extracurriculars, including debate and MUN (DSAMUN), a tradition in theatre, and community service and ecological initiatives. Exchange programs with Germany and language and cultural activities support intercultural understanding and higher education.
