Model United Nations (MUN) is part of AIS's learning program. In MUN, students take on roles as delegates representing different countries to debate current global issues. The program fosters teamwork, critical thinking and leadership. AntiguaMUN 2026 demonstrates AIS's commitment to student-led international discourse.
All grades participate in theater as an integral part of learning. The performing arts program includes large-scale productions, including the annual musical, with students performing for families and the school community. Students also work backstage in roles such as stage management, photography, digital recording and independent film production. Visual arts are central to AIS, with signature exhibitions and performance opportunities across grade levels.
Model United Nations involves students in English and Spanish committees, reflecting AIS's international orientation. AntiguaMUN provides bilingual handbooks for participants (English and Spanish). The program fosters cross-cultural understanding and leadership through diplomatic practice. Participation supports language development and global awareness.
AIS offers an After School Program for students in grades 1-12. Areas of focus include sports and recreational activities, culture (music and the arts), and traditional academic exploration. The athletics program includes karate, soccer, capoeira, basketball, volleyball, table tennis and climbing, with opportunities for friendly competition. External clubs and an after-school schedule support student interests.
Service Learning is a crucial part of AIS. All students from Kindergarten to 12 complete at least one service project each year. By secondary school, students independently identify a community problem, research solutions and implement a viable plan; by graduation they complete at least 200 hours of service. Examples include projects with Clean International, the Education for the Children Foundation, visits to senior homes, collaborations with Long Way Home, and the Garden of Hope.
Model United Nations fosters leadership, teamwork and critical thinking. AIS hosts AntiguaMUN, an annual conference with student leadership roles such as Secretary General and chairs. The conference provides opportunities to lead committees and coordinate events.
AIS's After School Activities and Athletics program includes year-round sports and recreational activities, supporting physical health. The program also emphasizes mental health by providing spaces for calm and access to counseling through AIS staff. AIS counselors provide ongoing support to students.
