Anfield was established in 1999 by professionals seeking to provide high-quality British-style international education in a small school setting. The Kowloon Tong campus opened in 2000, and Whampoa followed in 2008, with learning at the kindergarten campuses under the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and the English National Curriculum. Anfield School (primary) was established in 2011 to extend the educational vision. Anfield St. Bosco Koon Ying (SBKY) School was established in 2021 to extend SEN provision, and it moved to a new site in Yuen Long in February 2024. Shui Wah Education Institute Limited is the registered governing body for Anfield's schools under the Education Bureau.
Anfield describes itself as a family school community within a Catholic environment. The school operates across four campuses—Kowloon Tong (Kindergarten), Whampoa (Kindergarten & Nursery), Tai Wai (Primary), and SBKY (St. Bosco Koon Ying) School—reflecting a broad, multi-campus community. Families participate in events and activities that bring the community together, including Open Day and the Anfield Christmas Market. Anfield Hearts Foundation supports community and SEN initiatives through its board and charitable work. SBKY operates as a dedicated SEN campus, located in Yuen Long, contributing to inclusion across the Anfield group.
Anfield International Kindergarten in Kowloon Tong provides a British curriculum based on the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) for children aged two years and eight months to over four years. The school operates within a self-contained, two-storey building that includes a well-stocked library, a specialist music room, and a drama and activity space. A garden and outdoor play area further support physical development and learning outside the classroom. The school is distinctively known for its Catholic foundation and the motto "Educating Hearts and Minds," aiming to foster character and faith alongside academic skills. Programmes include Kindergarten 1, 2, and 3, with options for half-day or full-day sessions. The curriculum emphasizes English language acquisition while incorporating Chinese Studies, Physical Education, and Music. Notably, the school maintains a specific ratio of one teacher for a maximum of ten pupils to support individual student growth.
