Concordia International School Hong Kong was founded in 1990 by the President of the Lutheran Church–Hong Kong Synod. Since its founding, it has remained under the Lutheran Synod’s direction while developing as a small, co-educational secondary school. The school serves students in Grades 7–12, offering a North American curriculum with graduation through the Concordia High School Diploma. Its Christian values continue to guide the school’s ethos and community life.
CISHK emphasizes a close-knit community where students, staff, and families take part in regular school-wide events. Cultural celebrations such as the Chinese New Year, Cultural Day, and Christmas performances bring together students of different backgrounds. Community service and student-led activities, such as Model United Nations and the History Bee & Bowl, also play an important role in school life.
The school maintains a Parent Teacher Association (PTA) that supports engagement between families and staff. Past PTA newsletters reference events such as Sports Day, Easter celebrations, and Parents’ Evenings, where families connect with teachers. The PTA has also been involved in organizing cultural events and seasonal activities that strengthen the school community. While not every event is documented in detail on the website, the PTA continues to provide opportunities for parents to contribute to school life and support student learning.
