DGJS is the feeder primary school for Diocesan Girls' School (DGS) in Kowloon, Hong Kong. It is part of the Diocesan Girls' School family within the Anglican Hong Kong Sheng Kung Hui and shares the Jordan Road campus with the senior school. DGS traces its origins to the Diocesan Native Female Training School founded in 1860, and DGJS functions as the junior arm within that family. The DGJS domain began online in 1999, reflecting its established online presence, and the school's motto is 'Daily Giving Joyful Service'.
DGJS fosters a close school community with active parent involvement through the DGJS Family and the PTA, and it collaborates with the Diocesan Old Girls' Association (DOGA) as part of the broader school life. The PTA coordinates annual activities including Fun Day and PTA Outings in June and December, and funds scholarships, awards, coaching in many extracurricular activities, and trophies for Sports Day and Swimming Gala. DGJS families and teachers share open communication through the PTA, and membership is automatic for current DGJS and DGS families without subscription fees.
The PTA was formed in 1951, and its Chairperson is an ex-officio member of the School Council. It fosters contact between parents and the School and helps implement policies while supporting school activities year-round for the girls' welfare. Donations fund facility improvements, scholarships and awards, sponsor coaching in many ECAs, and donate trophies for Sports Day and the Swimming Gala. The PTA coordinates the school bus service and assists in sourcing quality school uniform providers. Diocesan Girls' Junior School (DGJS) is a private, not-for-profit primary school for girls, located at 1 Jordan Road, Kowloon, Hong Kong. The curriculum emphasizes biliteracy in English and Chinese, with English as the main medium of instruction for most subjects; Putonghua is taught with a Putonghua stream in Chinese classes. Computer literacy and project-based learning are integral to the program. Beyond core subjects, DGJS offers a broad range of learning experiences, including inter-school competitions, arts, sports, and clubs, plus an outward-bound program in Year 6. The campus covers almost 13,000 square metres and houses a Performing Arts Centre, a STEM Room, a Scripture Room, a Music Activity Centre and a Student Activity Centre. Primary One admission for 2026-27 provides four classes; entry is limited to girls born between 1 September 2019 and 31 December 2020. The Headmistress is Dr. Holly Ming. The school offers fee remission and scholarships in support of eligible families. The motto Daily Giving Joyful Service underpins daily life at DGJS. The school maintains a strong emphasis on service, leadership and character development, with extensive facilities and a wide range of clubs and activities.
