Parent Experience

Community, involvement and what it's like to be a parent at this school

History

HKFYG Lee Shau Kee College was founded in 2006 as a Direct Subsidy Scheme secondary school . It was established by the Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups (HKFYG) with funding support from the Lee Shau Kee Foundation. The school was named after Dr. Lee Shau Kee, a prominent philanthropist, in recognition of his contributions. Since its founding, it has developed both local (HKDSE) and international (IAL) academic pathways.

Community

The school highlights student development through programmes under the Wisdom in Action framework, which focuses on positive relationships, community service, and personal growth . Students participate in whole-school events such as inter-house activities and cultural activities, alongside academic enrichment programmes. These initiatives reflect an emphasis on building a supportive and active school community.

Parent-Teacher Association

The school has a Parent Teacher Association, which works to strengthen ties between families and the school. Its activities include organising parent-child events, supporting academic and cultural functions, and providing feedback channels between parents and staff . The PTA also helps coordinate parent volunteers for school events and contributes to fostering collaboration within the school community. Specific annual events such as family outings and talks are part of the PTA calendar.
