HKBUAS is the first through-train primary and secondary school in Hong Kong affiliated with a university. Its conception dates back to the 1990s within Hong Kong Baptist University, and in 2001, a donation agreement with the Kum Shing K.F. Wong Charity and Education Foundation secured equipment and naming rights. The foundation stone was laid in December 2004, and the campus opened in 2006, admitting its first students in September. In 2013, construction began on an integrated building (Wong Liu Wai Man Building) which opened in early 2016
The school hosts a variety of annual and signature events involving students, parents, and alumni, including the Winter Concert, Variety Show, and Graduation / G6 Promotion Ceremony. The “PBL Showcase Day & PTA Carnival cum Bazaar” is another example, where student projects are displayed and community members gather for food and activities.
The PTA acts as a key communication bridge between school and families, organizing festive celebrations, workshops, outings, and the Staircase Running Competition. It holds an Annual General Meeting (AGM) and runs a Parent Education Academy (PEA), giving parents opportunities to attend talks on communication and children’s emotional wellbeing. The PTA also launched A-Parent Sports Club (APSC), organizing activities such as badminton fun nights to connect parents and students through sport.
