Academic and Intellectual

The school uses a bespoke curriculum designed to be personalised, progressive and challenging for all learners. It is built around six Global Competencies: Communication, Critical Thinking, Collaboration, Citizenship, Character, and Creativity. The curriculum is pathway-driven and delivered through taught subjects across five pathways: Foundation, Builders, Explorers, Life Skills, and Vocational Pathway. Vocational Learning for post-16 learners focuses on independent living, communication, job skills and career planning, with job coaching support. The therapy team collaborates with teachers to address development, and learning is designed to reflect the whole person with strong links to therapeutic interventions.

Arts and Creative

Subject teaching includes Literacy, Numeracy, Independence, Citizenship, RSE, Creative Arts, Physical Education, The World Around Me, Play, Recreation and Leisure, Vocational Education and Digital Literacy. The Creative Arts programme includes weekly visual and expressive arts lessons, and student talent is celebrated through whole-school events. The curriculum integrates therapeutic practices within subjects to support learning and personal development.

Community and Service

The school emphasises collaborative partnerships with staff, families and the wider community to support holistic growth. It promotes a culture of belonging, dignity and respect, with wellbeing and engagement central to daily life. The school's approach prioritises student happiness, independence and engagement as part of everyday learning.

Lifestyle and Wellbeing

ESF’s Jockey Club Sarah Roe School (JCSRS) in Homantin, Kowloon, serves students aged 5–19 in an English-medium setting dedicated to additional learning needs. The school delivers a bespoke, SEN-focused curriculum, with secondary students able to gain units through ASDAN and AQA accreditation. Therapy services—speech and language, occupational therapy, and physiotherapy—are integrated with teaching, supporting communication, independence, mobility, and sensory processing; facilities include a hydrotherapy pool. The timetable features structured learning blocks and regular assemblies, with an Enrichment programme offering rotating student clubs on alternate Fridays.
