1. British Schools Overseas (BSO): In 2023, Kellett was inspected under the UK Department for Education’s BSO framework and judged Outstanding in every category. The inspection confirmed that the school provides an outstanding quality of education for its pupils.
2. Council of British International Schools (COBIS): In 2021, Kellett became the first school in Hong Kong to be awarded Patron’s Accredited Membership, the highest status given by COBIS. The school also holds Beacon School status for wellbeing, recognising its approach as a model of best practice for other schools.
3. Headmasters’ and Headmistresses’ Conference (HMC): Kellett Senior School has been a member of HMC since 2019. HMC is a professional association of the heads of leading independent schools, with membership requiring regular inspection and accreditation.
4. Independent Association of Prep Schools (IAPS): Both Kellett Preparatory Schools have been members since 2018, and were the first schools in Hong Kong to achieve membership. IAPS is an association of accredited prep schools that share professional development, networking, and standards of practice.
5. Federation of British International Schools in Asia (FOBISIA): Kellett is a founding member of FOBISIA, a non-profit organisation that promotes British-international education across Asia and provides professional development, networking, and enrichment opportunities for schools and students.
Carfax Education – The Schools Index: Kellett has been included in The Schools Index, which highlights the top 150 private schools worldwide, and was recognised among the top schools in Hong Kong/China. This acknowledges the school’s standing within international private education.
Kellett’s Pok Fu Lam Preparatory School serves ages 4–11 on Hong Kong Island’s south side, in Wah Fu at the foot of Mount Kellett. Reception follows the EYFS, moving to a modified English National Curriculum with specialist teaching in subjects including Mandarin, music, art, PE, public speaking and digital skills; classes are capped at 24 and Pok Fu Lam runs three classes per year group. Facilities include a multi-use auditorium, gym, library, science lab, drama and dance studios, ICT and language labs, music rooms, art studio, and a SEN learning support base. The school day at PFL runs 8:30–15:15 with scheduled breaks by year group. Families use a dedicated Kwoon Chung bus service. Distinctive programmes include Innovation in Prep and whole-school wellbeing via “Positively Kellett.” Graduating Prep pupils typically continue within Kellett’s through-train pathway to Senior in Kowloon Bay.
