Language Provision

English is the language of instruction for most subjects; Mandarin is a major language that is extensively studied and forms a core part of the curriculum. Mandarin is introduced in the early years with daily instruction in Kindergarten, and continues through the school's program. Within the IB Diploma Programme, Chinese language offerings (Chinese B and Chinese A LAL) and Spanish are listed as options, reflecting additional language provision within KCIS's curricula.

Bilingual Teaching

KCIS uses English as the medium of instruction for all subjects, with Mandarin being extensively studied across the curriculum. The International Section began as an English‑medium program complemented by daily Mandarin lessons for children from age 3. Mandarin instruction starts in the early years (Kindergarten/Reception) and continues through primary and secondary levels. The school emphasizes language diversity and treats all mother tongues with respect.
