Uniforms are compulsory for all pupils. The summer uniform is green shorts, a short-sleeved green polo shirt, white socks and black or brown shoes; the winter uniform is long green trousers, a long-sleeved green polo shirt, white socks and black or brown shoes. The P.E. uniform is a green T-shirt, navy shorts and trainers, worn on Tuesdays and Fridays; hats are compulsory for outdoor activities.
Children bring their own lunches. Non-perishable food is provided by parents; there are no cold rooms to store perishable items, and boiling water for instant meals is not provided.
The school is privately owned and run as a family business; it is unaffiliated and apolitical.
Located in Upper Cheung Sha Village on South Lantau Island, the Reception campus of Lantau International School serves children aged four to five in a bilingual English–Mandarin environment. Following the British Early Years Foundation Stage framework, the programme focuses on early literacy, numeracy, creative arts, and social development through structured play and exploration. The seaside setting near Cheung Sha Beach allows for outdoor activities and nature-based learning as part of daily routines. Class sizes are limited to 22 students, ensuring close teacher support. Families can reach the campus via school bus routes and local transport from Tung Chung and Mui Wo, making it accessible while maintaining a peaceful coastal environment.
