L.I.S. operates across three campuses on South Lantau: Cheung Sha (Reception), Tong Fuk (Lower Primary), and Pui O (Upper Primary). The Cheung Sha Reception Class space is 4,500 square feet. Each campus has ample private outdoor space for children to play outside the classrooms. The campus libraries hold over 5,000 books available to students. Classrooms feature interactive whiteboards, with computers and robots available from Primary 4, and the curriculum follows the British model with Mandarin instruction. After-school and summer clubs are available.
Regular P.E. classes on the beach are part of the curriculum. Outdoor activities include camping trips, hikes and nature lessons. All campuses have private outdoor space for play and learning. The learning approach emphasizes outdoor physical activity and nature-based education.
L.I.S. provides schooling in English from Reception Class to Primary 6, with a bilingual Mandarin-English Reception Class and Mandarin classes several times a week at primary level. The curriculum follows the British Curriculum and uses twice-yearly NFER assessments for Primary 1 to Primary 6. Core subjects include English, mathematics, science, with history, geography, art, physical education and music; from Primary 4 to Primary 6 there are weekly computer and coding lessons using robots. Mathletics supplements maths and daily reading is encouraged, with an annual summer Reading Challenge. Mandarin is integrated through a bilingual Reception Class and additional Mandarin instruction at primary level; outdoor learning includes beach PE, camping trips, hikes and nature lessons.
A variety of optional after-school clubs are offered during the term; clubs may vary year to year and are announced at the start of each trimester. The 2025-26 fee is HK$1,800 for 10 sessions. Holidays clubs include a summer club. External instructors can host clubs on LIS campuses and may be open to non-L.I.S. students; inquiries can be directed to the General Manager.
Located in Upper Cheung Sha Village on South Lantau Island, the Reception campus of Lantau International School serves children aged four to five in a bilingual English–Mandarin environment. Following the British Early Years Foundation Stage framework, the programme focuses on early literacy, numeracy, creative arts, and social development through structured play and exploration. The seaside setting near Cheung Sha Beach allows for outdoor activities and nature-based learning as part of daily routines. Class sizes are limited to 22 students, ensuring close teacher support. Families can reach the campus via school bus routes and local transport from Tung Chung and Mui Wo, making it accessible while maintaining a peaceful coastal environment.
