The French International School of Hong Kong (FIS) was founded in 1963 by a group of French-speaking families seeking a bilingual education for their children. Over the decades, the school has expanded to four campuses across Hong Kong. The Tseung Kwan O Campus was inaugurated in 2018, reflecting the school’s continued growth and its aim to serve families in the eastern New Territories. FIS operates as a non-profit association, managed by a parent-elected Board and supported by the Agence pour l’Enseignement Français à l’Étranger (AEFE), which ensures the quality and consistency of the French curriculum.
The TKO campus is home to a diverse international community of students, parents, and staff. School-wide events such as the FIS Family Fun Fair, cultural festivals, and class projects bring together families from both the French and International Streams. Students also participate in environmental and service initiatives that strengthen the sense of belonging and shared responsibility within the school community.
Parent involvement at TKO is coordinated through the French International School Community Association (FISCA), the school’s parent association. FISCA organises social and charitable activities across all campuses, including the Uniform and Book Fair, Family Fun Fair, and Meet & Greet breakfasts for new parents. It also supports campus events such as international days and themed fundraisers. Parents are encouraged to volunteer through committees and classroom networks, fostering a close connection between families and teachers. Through these initiatives, FISCA helps maintain a welcoming and engaged school environment.

International Stream pupils follow the IEYC in Early Years and IPC in Primary, taught in English; the French Stream offers the French national curriculum from PS to 3ème. The campus features a wide ECA menu spanning sports, STEM (coding, robotics, STEM clubs), and performing arts (orchestra, choir, drama). Families can see where each year group is based using the school’s Find my campus guidance.
