The Primary Section offers clubs and competitions for academically inclined students. Battle of the Books, Debate Team, Maths Team and Maths Club are among the options, with Time to Talk available as well. The STEM Club provides hands-on projects and technology exploration.
Arts activities include Drama Club (Cantonese) and Drama Team, plus Junior and Senior Choir. Instrumental groups include Chinese Orchestra, Handchime Team, Strings Orchestra and Wind Band. Visual arts include Ink Painting Club and Puppet Crafts Club; dance groups include Junior Chinese Dance Team and Senior Chinese Dance Team.
Cantonese-language drama supports language expression. Chinese culture is represented by Junior and Senior Chinese Dance Teams, Chinese Instrumental Classes and Chinese Orchestra. These activities promote cultural awareness and language appreciation beyond the classroom.
Brownies, MCS Explorers and Young Pioneers of Christ offer social and service-oriented activities. Filmit and IT Club provide technology- and media-related hobbies. Go Green Club focuses on environmental topics, while Time to Talk supports peer communication.
Service learning is a core component of student development. Students participate in service projects and community outreach to make a positive impact. This work helps develop empathy, teamwork and leadership.
Sports and physical activity are central to student life, with an Athletics Club and teams for badminton, basketball, gymnastics, table tennis and volleyball. Outdoor pursuits and regular PE support physical health and teamwork. Creative and performing arts offerings also contribute to wellbeing.
Maryknoll Convent School (Primary Section) is an all‑girls Catholic day school located at 130 Waterloo Road in Kowloon. The school began as a kindergarten on 11 February 1925 and, as enrolment grew, opened in a dedicated campus in 1937. Since 1997 the Primary Section has operated as a whole‑day, non‑boarding school for students in Primary 1–6. The school runs a school‑based curriculum designed by its Curriculum, Learning and Teaching Committee, with emphasis on holistic development, values education and STEAM‑oriented learning. English is the language of instruction in the English language curriculum; Chinese is taught as a separate subject, and Putonghua (Mandarin) is offered as an additional language. The Principal is Ada Chan. The school serves girls aged approximately 6–12 and provides a wide range of ECAs and clubs, including Debate Team, Drama Club (Cantonese) and STEM Club.
