Parent Experience

Community, involvement and what it's like to be a parent at this school

History

The school opened in September 2014 as the first campus for NAIS Hong Kong, and over the following years, the group expanded to include three dedicated campuses, including the Sai Kung Early Years site. The school is part of the global Nord Anglia Education network, and its ownership and governance sit within this organisation. In its first decade, the school grew from fewer than 500 students to over 1,500 across all campuses.

Community

The community consists of families from over 40 nationalities who participate in events such as the “International Day” and sports days, with strong home-school links and parent engagement. Large-scale gatherings bring together students, staff, parents, and alumni, reinforcing a sense of togetherness.

Parent-Teacher Association

The PTA runs working teams and interest groups which help organise major community events, including seasonal fairs such as the Spring Fair and Summer Carnival. Parents volunteer to join planning committees for these events, and the PTA also arranges workshops for parents (for example, on writing pedagogy) and invites the wider school community to participate. Their efforts support activities across campuses, including the Sai Kung Early Years site.

Nord Anglia’s Sai Kung Early Years Campus serves children aged 3–5 (with Year 1 also on site). The Early Years programme follows the EYFS from the English National Curriculum and is delivered in English by specialist Early Years staff. Learning takes place in purpose-designed classrooms with play-based activities across the seven EYFS areas, including early literacy, maths, and expressive arts. Families benefit from a school bus service to and from campus. As children progress through NAIS Hong Kong, they continue into the English National Curriculum and IGCSE, then the IB Diploma Programme in Sixth Form. Distinctive partnerships enrich learning: the Juilliard–Nord Anglia Performing Arts Programme enhances music, dance, and drama, while collaboration with MIT supports hands-on STEAM projects. Average class sizes are 24, supporting close attention to each child’s development in the Early Years. Tuition details for Nursery, Reception, and Year 1 are published on the Tuition Fees page.
