Sir Ellis Kadoorie (S) Primary School was founded in 1891 by Ellis Kadoorie as The Ellis Kadoorie School for Indians to educate children of South Asian descent. In 1960 the school was renamed Sir Ellis Kadoorie School. The institution operated with AM and PM sessions until the PM session was discontinued in 1975, after which it ran as a whole-day school. It was extended to Form Five in 1978, and in 1980 it was separated into primary and secondary, with most primary graduates moving to Sir Ellis Kadoorie Secondary School. To accommodate growth, the secondary portion moved to West Kowloon in 2000, and the Sir Ellis Kadoorie (S) Primary School has occupied the premises on its own since then.
The SEKPS community runs a broad range of weekly extra-curricular activities with rotating and non-rotating groups for Primary 1–6. The school hosts cultural and educational events such as World Book Fest Day and other competitions, as shown on the Activities pages. Family involvement is supported by the Parent Academy, which offers talks and classes for parents (including Chinese dance and painting). The PTA coordinates family involvement and runs events such as the annual PTA Day Tour, and communications are delivered through a dedicated PTA Newsletter published in October and January.
