Let the school know you're thinking of applying — they can share their prerequisites and help you through the process.
It's best to ask — circumstances can change at any time.
Step 1 — Prepare and submit required documents: Submit official transcripts or report cards for the two latest academic years (including the current year), a questionnaire completed by your child's current class teacher, an English proficiency test result, and a Math baseline assessment. These items are mandatory for the admission review. This initial collection sets the baseline for the review.
2. Step 2 — Entry assessment: SSHK conducts an interview and a performance assessment as part of the admission process. The interview and assessment are designed to gauge suitability for the program and the child's readiness for the school's curriculum. Compulsory elements include the documents listed in Step 1 plus the two assessments.
Step 3 — Admissions decision: After the assessment, the school reviews the candidate's materials and assessment results and notifies families regarding admission decisions. If additional information is required, families should supply it promptly to avoid delays.
Step 4 — Offer, acceptance, and initial financial commitments: If an offer is made, families accept the place and complete enrollment steps. At this point, the Capital Levy and an admission deposit are required as part of the enrollment process, and the first tuition installment and related fees will apply. The Capital Levy details (annual HK$15,000 or one-off HK$80,000) and the deposit requirement are defined for the 2025-2026 year.
Step 5 — Enrolment and ongoing payments: Tuition is payable on the first day of each month via Direct Debit, with monthly statements issued for reference. Fees may be payable even if the student is on leave, and overdue payments can lead to exclusion. Information about bank details and changes should be updated promptly.
SSHK does not publish a formal waitlist or pool policy on its admissions pages. Availability of places is managed through direct inquiry with admissions; families are encouraged to check current openings by contacting admissions@sshk.edu.hk.
Tuition Grant Scheme for Spanish Nationals: SSHK offers a Tuition Grant Scheme for native Spanish speakers from Spain or Hispanic countries. The grant subsidizes the annual tuition fee for the Primary Programme and has specific eligibility and application requirements. Applicants must complete the Tuition Grant Scheme Application form, be native Spanish speakers (from the listed eligible countries), and understand that recipients will not receive the sibling discount. The grant covers only the monthly tuition fee portion. To apply or ask questions, contact admissions@sshk.edu.hk.
