Academic and Intellectual

St. Joseph's Anglo-Chinese Primary School emphasizes academic and intellectual development through its STEAM Education framework and Gifted Education. The school pursues a three-year educational theme, Together We F.L.Y., which aims to foster wisdom, lifelong learning, and youth potential. STEAM Education features interdisciplinary units, a dedicated STEAM room, and an annual STEAM Exhibition, while Gifted Education includes four pull-out groups—Cyber Ranger (photography), SJ Journalist ( videography and presentation), SJ Pilot (aerospace technology and drones), and SJ Maker (digital fabrication)—plus Creative Workshops and Innovative Projects. Wednesday Programmes complement classroom learning with hands-on activities such as P.1 Abacus + P.2 Go (Weiqi), P.3 My Dream Planet + P.4 Little Scientist, and foreign language study for P.5–P.6 (Japanese, German, Spanish).

Arts and Creative

Arts and creative activities are integrated through drama, creative writing, and visual arts in after-school offerings, including Drama and Minecraft. The school also runs arts-forward tracks within Gifted Education, such as SJ Journalist, SJ Maker, and Cyber Ranger, which develop creativity in videography, digital art, and photography. Creative Workshops, led by an Educational Psychologist, and the Innovative Project program further cultivate creativity and artistic problem-solving, complemented by performances and visual arts initiatives.

Cultural and Language

Cultural and language activities are visible in the Wednesday Programmes, which include P.5–P.6 Foreign Language study in Japanese, German, and Spanish. The school follows a Language-rich Environment policy that aims to use English and Putonghua naturally inside and outside the classroom, and to cultivate globally minded language use. This LRLE framework supports authentic language learning and cultural awareness across school life.

Social and Hobbies

A broad range of after-school activities covers sports, games, and hobby groups, including Sailing, K-POP, Chess, Athletics, Sport Climbing, Football, Tennis, and Bandar—along with Mind-mapping or math-focused clubs like Mathematical Mind and Mathematics Olympiad. Other offerings include Cub Scout, Minecraft, Drama, Basketball, Table Tennis, Rope Skipping, Gymnastics, Go, Fencing, and Wushu, with opportunities to explore arts, debates, and presentation skills. Friday Activities provide level-appropriate experiences such as Fencing, Gymnastics, Wushu, Karate, Swimming, and Sport-related clubs, expanding students' after-school engagement.

Community and Service

The school supports faith-based and community-oriented activities, including a Young Pioneers of Christ group as part of After School Activities. Advent Mass and other campus events reflect the Catholic identity and community life of the school. These elements together contribute to a sense of community and shared values, even though explicit school-wide service hours or outreach programs are not listed on the site.

Leadership and Professional

Leadership and professional development are embedded in Gifted Education through Leadership Exploration Development, which aims to develop gifted students' leadership skills. Past programs include Communication & Presentation Unit and Communication Elites to enhance interpersonal and presentation abilities. Presentations and debates are further supported by programs like Presentation Skills and the Future's Chief Executive Programme, alongside other projects that emphasize creative and critical thinking.

Lifestyle and Wellbeing

Lifestyle and wellbeing are supported through a strong sports and physical activity offering, including Sailing, Athletics, Sport Climbing, Football, Tennis, Badminton, and Swimming. The school's after-school timetable and Friday Activities encourage active, balanced lifestyles and opportunities for teamwork and physical fitness. In addition to sports, Wednesday Programmes and After School Activities foster cognitive growth and well-being through structured, hands-on learning and collaborative activities.
