Boarding is part of SSCPS. The Grade 6 boarding programme lasts one year and is compulsory for Grade 6 students. It pairs classroom teaching with boarding life and includes four training areas: Life-skill Training, Personal Management, Community Service, and Cultural Activities; training is delivered by resident teachers, with Personal Management provided by professionals.
Meals are provided by a catering service provider. Breakfast, Lunch, Tea and Dinner menus are published and available for download.
Governance is provided by the Preparatory School Committee. The committee is chaired by Dr Christopher W. To, with Prof Frederick K.S. Leung as Supervisor, and the school is a feeder to St Stephen's College established by the College Council to complement the College programme. It embraces Anglican values as part of the Hong Kong Sheng Kung Hui.
St. Stephen’s College Preparatory School (SSCPS) is a co-educational Anglican primary school (Grades 1–6) in Stanley on Hong Kong Island. Teaching is bilingual: English is used for English, Mathematics, and Science & Health Education by Native English-speaking teachers, while Chinese and Social & Cultural Studies are taught by Putonghua-qualified staff. The school offers a compulsory one-year boarding programme in Grade 6 designed to build independence, self-management, and community engagement. Facilities and programmes include an extensive music provision (orchestra, symphonic band, choirs, and instrument classes) and a broad sports programme, with regular participation and results in inter-primary competitions. SSCPS reports 24 classes and 764 students in 2023–24. Graduates receive feeder priority to St. Stephen’s College, subject to requirements. School bus routes cover many Hong Kong Island neighbourhoods with published monthly charges.
