It's best to ask — circumstances can change at any time.
THS started with three teachers and nine students in December. In the following school year enrollment grew to 30 students, and by 2012 THS had 103 students. THS earned accreditation from the Western Association of Schools and Colleges in 2013. The Grove Campus opened in 2015 and remains THS's most recent campus.
THS emphasizes community, with students collaborating in classes, lunch clubs, and after‑school programs to support the school, the local Hong Kong community, and beyond. The PTA represents the entire THS parent community with teacher representatives and promotes ongoing parental involvement to support an optimal educational environment and to foster strong relations between parents, teachers, and school administration. The school runs a Social Impact and Sustainability Program (SISP) and engages in various community initiatives. The THS Mooncake Drive is an annual event that provides mooncakes to the Ap Lei Chau community.
The Harbour School Parent Teacher Association Ltd (PTA) is an organization of the entire THS parent community and teacher representatives. The PTA strives for continued parental involvement to help support an optimal educational environment for THS children, and to foster strong community relations between parents, teachers and school administration.
The Harbour School’s Grove Campus in Ap Lei Chau is THS’s primary hub, serving Junior Grade 1 through Grade 6. The school follows an adapted American curriculum, referencing Common Core for literacy and math, Next Generation Science Standards, and U.S. social studies frameworks. Students learn in English, with French, Mandarin, and EAL offered as part of the language program. Facilities highlighted across THS include a makerspace (the Foundry), a Black Box Theatre, and access to the “Black Dolphin,” a 50-foot ketch used as an outdoor classroom for marine science. After-school S.E.A. courses add options in sports, photography, and art, while the Black Dolphin Sports program fields teams in multiple disciplines. Families can review transparent tuition (with Admissions Rights or annual levy options) and note that primary applicants may be invited for trial days and MAP screening in certain grades.
