The Prep School at Wycombe Abbey School Hong Kong opened in September 2019 as part of the wider Wycombe Abbey International group. It was established to extend the educational heritage of Wycombe Abbey UK, founded in 1896, by offering a British preparatory education model in Hong Kong. The Prep School forms the core of the Hong Kong campus, providing education for Years 1–8 within the British National Curriculum framework. It operates under Wycombe Abbey International Schools, which oversees a family of schools across Asia based on shared educational values and governance.
The Prep School’s parent partnership programme plays an active role in fostering communication and engagement between home and school. Events such as Wellbeing Evenings and Guest Speaker sessions give parents the opportunity to participate in discussions about child development and learning. The school also organises hands-on family activities, including learning afternoons where parents join lessons alongside their children. Parent coffee mornings and curriculum evenings further encourage dialogue between staff and families. The school is in the process of developing “Friends of Wycombe Abbey Hong Kong,” a parent group designed to coordinate community events and strengthen the partnership between teachers and families.
