Academic and Intellectual

The school uses the IPC and IMYC curricula, integrated with the Hungarian National Core Curriculum (NAT). The IPC and IMYC are internationally recognized programmes used in many countries; IPC is implemented in over 1,000 schools across more than 90 countries, and IMYC in over 140 schools in more than 50 countries. The school serves children aged 5–13. Learning is project‑based to develop independent thinking, supported by small class sizes and a student‑centered approach.

Arts and Creative

Pre‑School Milepost 1 covers Art, Design, Technology and Innovation; Geography; Health and Wellbeing; History; ICT and Computing; International; Music; P.E.; Science. Pre‑schoolers have extra‑curricular activities such as chess, piano, dance and Woodshop. Afternoon activities include mathematics, chess, multisport, crafts, language clubs (Chinese, French, Spanish) and music.

Cultural and Language

English is the main language of instruction with 5–7 English lessons weekly. All subjects are taught in English, with Hungarian language and literature taught as a separate subject. Hungarian is developed to support vocabulary, oral skills and comprehension, and there is an option for Hungarian as a foreign language for late joiners. English language support is available for late joiners.

Social and Hobbies

Afternoon activities include mathematics, chess, multisport, crafts, language clubs (Chinese, French, Spanish) and music. Extra‑curricular clubs include chess, Woodshop, Science club, dance, beading, painting, guitar, Robocode, Spanish and yoga. Pre‑schoolers can participate in clubs such as chess, piano, dance and Woodshop. The school day extends with after‑care until 5:00 p.m. and a range of clubs and activities available to students.

Community and Service

The school was founded in 2017 by the Krisztina Kalocsai Foundation and has been operated by the Szeged International Education Center Nonprofit LLC since July 2023. Szeged IPS is a state‑recognized international school with an OM identification number. The foundation and organizational structure underpin the school's international and community‑oriented framing.

Leadership and Professional

Established in 2017 and maintained by the Kalocsai Krisztina Foundation, Szeged IPS is a small school with about 62 students, aiming to keep numbers low as it grows. The school is led by a dedicated Headteacher, who provides a video introduction for parents and oversees a program that includes Hungarian literacy and foreign language options. The Headteacher's Welcome notes the school's governance and ongoing development, including opportunities for staff and families to engage with the school's leadership.

Lifestyle and Wellbeing

Students receive three meals a day (breakfast, lunch and an afternoon snack) with dietary options available on request; meals can be paid monthly. Afternoon childcare services run until 5:00 p.m. and are free of charge. The school promotes a healthy diet and lifestyle, with a broad range of after‑school activities including multisport and language clubs, and opportunities to participate in clubs such as chess, dance, music and crafts.

Located in Hungary, Szeged International Primary School serves children aged 5 to 13.
