The Daly College Student Counseling services provide confidential help and support to students, parents and caregivers, free of charge. A trained professional counselor offers support and a new perspective on personal and emotional difficulties. Counseling aims to help individuals cope with problems, and the counselor is highly qualified with years of experience. Counseling creates a private, non-judgmental space to discuss issues, and covers concerns such as academic pressure, concentration problems, panic attacks, family and relationship difficulties, eating disorders, self-esteem and confidence, depression, anxiety, bereavement, and bullying. Everything said in counseling is kept confidential under a strict code of ethics, unless there is a clear risk. The student counselor is Mrs. Mridulika Agrawal and the support counselor is Dr. Shantanu Maitra.
FOCUS is Daly College's Special Education Needs department, established in 2011 to recognise each child's strengths and address learning needs in a non-segregated environment. The program mainstreams learners through intensive remedial work based on IEPs and CBSE guidelines, with accommodations and modifications as needed. Support areas include Classroom peer sensitisation, the Resource Room 'FOCUS', Intensive Remedial based on IEPs, Occupational Therapy, Shadow Teachers, Parent Partnership, and a dedicated team led by Coordinator Mrs. Shalini Verma, along with specialists such as Dr. Minakshi Rathore (Remedial) and Miss Goldi Singh (Remedial), plus an Occupational Therapist and active involvement from alumni volunteers.
Mental wellbeing is supported through the Counseling program, which provides confidential help and guidance to aid emotional health. Counseling focuses on listening to personal and emotional problems, offering non-judgmental support and potential strategies, and is designed to help students maintain well-being throughout their schooling. The duration and use of counseling vary by individual needs, with ongoing access to professional support as appropriate.
Safeguarding is supported by a formal internal mechanism, including the Fifth Internal Complaints Committee reconstituted in November 2015, and a Code of Ethics within the Counseling Centre that ensures confidentiality and ethical practice. The school emphasises safeguarding and providing a secure environment for students and families.
