Introduction

German Embassy School New Delhi (DSND) is a German overseas school operated with the German Embassy in Chanakyapuri, New Delhi. Admissions

Admissions

1. The basic requirements for admission to the German School New Delhi are a good command of the German language and availability of seats in the respective group/class. If there are insufficient seats in the individual groups/classes, a waiting list will be drawn up for admission. This applies to both kindergarten and school admissions.

2. For applying to DSND, fill up both the forms and send them together with two copies of the passport and three copies of the reports to the school's administration office by email. The forms are Admission Forms in German and English (Download PDF). These documents should be submitted to the DSND administration for review.

3. On completion of the above formalities, an interactive session is held on a previously agreed date. The session allows the family to get to know the School better and for the School to get to know the family. A questionnaire is filled out during the course of the discussions, and all information furnished is kept confidential. A representative of the parents' council may guide you through the process.

4. The DSND is a recognised overseas German school which imparts education in keeping with the aims and objectives of the German education system and leading up to German school leaving qualifications. The school also strives to acquaint its pupils with Indian culture, nurture interpersonal and cultural ties through extra-curricular activities and foster mutual understanding. It welcomes pupils of nationalities other than German if they have a good command over the German language, seats are available in the school and this does not violate the legal and regulatory environment of the host country in any manner.

5. All decisions relating to admission to the kindergarten or school shall be taken jointly by the principal of the School and one board member of the German School Association New Delhi. This joint decision‑making arrangement underlines the collaborative nature of admissions. The policy applies to admissions at all levels.
