Aditi's story began in 1984 when the Ujwal Trust, a pioneering group led by Anne Warrior and Geetha Narayanan, conceived the idea and developed it into reality. Aditi is a private, secular school that provides an education extending beyond the classroom through a globally inspired curriculum. The school is governed as a private independent institution run by The Ujwal Trust, a not-for-profit entity. It emphasizes innovative teaching practices, a broad-based curriculum spanning humanities, arts, science and technology, and a commitment to academic excellence and social contributions. The mission is to prepare students to think critically, act compassionately, and contribute meaningfully to an interconnected world.
There is always something exciting and interesting happening at Aditi. Events, activities and initiatives range from academic events to creative projects, outreach interactions to class presentations, sports activities to guest lectures involving the entire Aditi community of students, teachers, parents and other stakeholders. The Children's Poetry Festival is celebrated annually on January 23 (Anne Warrior's birthday) and is organized by the Aditi Alumni Association. TEDxMAIS is a decade-long feature of the school community that brings ideas and inspiration to students and staff.
