Wellbeing and Support

How students are nurtured, understood, and kept safe

Social and Emotional Learning (SEL)

The Middle School curriculum fosters students' intellectual, social, and emotional growth and encourages critical thinking and problem-solving skills. The Elementary School curriculum includes social-emotional learning. Domains of Development are personal, social, experiential, and aesthetic. The Domains of Development span Grades 4-12 as a dedicated learning project. SUPW (Socially Useful Productive Work) fosters empathy and appreciation of diversity and inclusion.

Special Educational Needs (SEN)

The school recognises that each student learns differently and that these differences must be acknowledged and supported. The school offers Learning Support (LD) as a special service. Counselling services are available to support student needs.

Mental Wellbeing

The Counselling team offers services for the social and emotional well-being of the school community. The wellness initiative uses a multi-pronged approach to wellness, with preventive interventions and ongoing school-wide awareness programmes to develop social and emotional skills among staff, students, and parents. The school promotes a healthy lifestyle, including eating healthy foods and daily physical exercise. The counselling and wellness framework supports mental health and well-being across the school.

Safeguarding

The school has a Child Protection Policy, an Anti-Bullying Policy, and an Online Protection Policy. A Child Protection Officer is appointed to oversee safeguarding. An Internal Complaints Committee investigates and redresses harassment under the Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal Act, 2013. The school abides by state and national guidelines on keeping students safe, and all staff undergo mandatory police verification and background checks. The Child Protection Policy explains signs of abuse, preventive measures, and reporting procedures.
