Parent Experience

Community, involvement and what it's like to be a parent at this school

History

Udgam School for Children was founded in 1965 by Mrs. Sarojben Carvalho in a small building in Ahmedabad. As enrollment grew, the school moved to a larger campus in Thaltej. In 1991 the Kantilal Jaikishandas Choksi Charitable Trust took over the school. Udgam became affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) and later introduced the International Baccalaureate Career-related Programme (IBCP) for grades XI–XII, providing international education pathways. Udgam is among the oldest CBSE schools in Ahmedabad.

Community

Udgam hosts an Annual Function with the 2025-26 theme Happiness, Gratitude, Creation, History and Culture. Foundation Day is celebrated to mark Udgam's legacy, including a post dated January 4, 2024. Udgamites participate in field trips and picnics as part of the learning experience, such as Grade 2 visits to a farm. Sports Day is a regular school-wide event.
