GIIS Tokyo operates as part of the Global Indian International School network delivering international education in Japan. The first GIIS campus in Japan opened in 2006 in Nishikasai, Edogawa-ku, Tokyo, with about 50 students. GIIS opened a second campus in Tokyo around 2016–2017, marking the network's expansion within the city. The Tokyo campuses now comprise Nishikasai (flagship), Higashikasai, Seishincho, and Kita Kasai, with Kita Kasai described as the newest addition. Seishincho Campus was established as a preschool campus along the Arakawa River in Seishincho, expanding GIIS's early-years offerings in Tokyo.
GIIS Tokyo maintains a community across four campuses in Edogawa Ward, with a range of events that foster family involvement. Regular school events include Annual Day and Sports Day, featuring participation by students from all four Houses. Special Days such as Grandparents' Day involve classroom activities and family participation, strengthening school–family bonds. Halloween celebrations across all four campuses illustrate cross-campus cultural engagement.
GIIS Tokyo organizes parent engagement through formal forums such as the GIIS Tokyo Parent Ambassadors and Friends of GIIS, which work with the school to share positive community stories. Parents have access to the myGIIS portal for announcements, queries, and administrative tasks. Communication channels include Parent Teacher Meetings, One‑on‑One Meetings, Weekly Class Updates and Orientation Sessions. Calendar events like Annual Day and Sports Day offer opportunities for parent involvement in both academics and co‑curricular activities. Special Days in pre-primary classrooms invite parental participation, including activities like storytelling and Grandparents' Day, with parents often volunteering for logistical support.
GIIS Tokyo’s Seishincho campus is a preschool campus in Edogawa-ku, described as being located along the Arakawa River side in Seishincho. The campus delivers the Global Montessori Plus (GMP) programme, which GIIS describes as combining Montessori education with “digital-era methods,” and it is offered at Seishincho and Kitakasai. GIIS highlights GMP’s “5 pillars,” including the Excelerate Programme, Multi-faceted Learning, iPlay Programme, iCare Programme and a Future Ready Programme. For admissions planning, GIIS publishes a Tokyo fees page that includes the GMP fee structure and notes that each academic year consists of four terms.
