Facilities, annual and recurring charges

- Facility fee (Early Years / K–Grade 8): ¥100,000 per year (or ¥25,000 per quarter; monthly option available for seasonal students at ¥10,000 per month).
- Annual insurance: ¥5,500 per student.
- PTA fee (per family, yearly, non-refundable): ¥5,000.
- Device management fee (Grades K–5): ¥15,000 per year (non-refundable).

Other elective and program fees

School bus fees (Niseko)

- Bus fee within 4 km (Niseko, Hirafu): ¥160,000 per year (¥40,000 per quarter).
- Bus fee beyond 4 km: ¥220,000 per year (¥55,000 per quarter).
- Bus payments may be made annually or quarterly; bus fees are refundable on a quarterly basis for any complete quarter not used.

Boarding (dormitory) fees — Sapporo dormitory option available to HIS students

- Room deposit (one-time, refundable): ¥50,000.
- Room cleaning fee (annual, non-refundable): ¥30,000.
- Room fee (weekdays & weekends): ¥800,000 per year (¥200,000 per quarter).
- Room fee (weekdays only): ¥520,000 per year (¥130,000 per quarter).
- Meal fee (breakfast, lunch & dinner Monday–Friday): ¥600,000 per year (¥150,000 per quarter).
- Dormitory fees are payable annually but may be accepted quarterly; the room deposit is refunded minus cleaning or repair costs.

Billing schedule and payment terms

- Standard practice: fees are payable annually; quarterly payment is accepted for families as specified by the school. Invoices are issued in July. For Niseko long-term/permanent residents, the first payment is due on August 20 immediately preceding the school year. Seasonal (part-time) Niseko residents may request monthly billing for the months attended. For students enrolling after Opening Day, payment is due prior to enrollment.

Required payment method(s)

- Tuition and fee payments for the Niseko branch are required to be made by bank transfer; the school's admissions guidance specifies bank transfers as the required payment route and indicates tuition/fee payments are expected on a quarterly basis unless otherwise agreed.

Refund and cancellation information

- Tuition is charged for every quarter in which a student attended; the school does not prorate or refund portions of a quarter for regular (long-term) students. For seasonal students, tuition is charged and refunded on a monthly basis for months attended. Bus fees follow the same quarterly refund practice. In principle, tuition and fees are non-refundable. Returning families are asked to pay a non-refundable ¥50,000 reservation toward the annual fee to reserve a spot; new families must pay the non-refundable application fee at enrollment to reserve a spot. In the event of unpaid fees, school records will be withheld until fees are paid in full.

Hokkaido International School Niseko is a private, not-for-profit, coeducational day school in Niseko Town, offering an English-language international education from Early Years through Grade 8. Learning in Kindergarten to Grade 5 is delivered through the International Primary Curriculum (IPC), and Grades 6–8 use the International Middle Years Curriculum (IMYC). Early Years is inspired by the Reggio Emilia approach. The campus integrates place-based learning by using Hokkaido’s history, geography and natural environment as an extension of the curriculum. Students also use Singapore Math (Math in Focus) from Kindergarten through Grade 6. A distinctive feature is the school’s outdoor programming, including a Niseko summer program with nature hikes and forestry, plus additional activities such as choir, botanical artmaking, cooking and gardening.
