The campus is located in Heguri Town, Ikoma District, Nara Prefecture, providing a peaceful setting for its international community. KCS operates as a Japanese Zaidan Hojin (foundation) guided by a Board of Regents and a Board of Operations, with mission representation from North American Baptist, Christian Churches/Churches of Christ, and Bethany International; it is a member of the Association of Christian Schools International and is in Year 1 of accreditation candidacy with a target completion by May 2027.

Student life includes a range of family-oriented activities such as Sports Day, drama nights, Christmas programs, and All-School Campouts. The Eagle Theater Company is a student-led drama program that often involves parent volunteers and community members. The school is actively fundraising for a new outdoor athletic facility, following the October 2024 land purchase.
