Kansai Christian School (KCS) was established in 1970 as an English-language school serving the evangelical Christian missionary community in the Kansai region. It has grown into an all-English, 1st–12th grade program with a biblically based, Christ-centered approach that serves students from many nationalities. The campus is located in Heguri Town, Ikoma District, Nara Prefecture, providing a peaceful setting for its international community. KCS operates as a Japanese Zaidan Hojin (foundation) guided by a Board of Regents and a Board of Operations, with mission representation from North American Baptist, Christian Churches/Churches of Christ, and Bethany International; it is a member of the Association of Christian Schools International and is in Year 1 of accreditation candidacy with a target completion by May 2027.
KCS fosters an international community with students from around the world and a family-like atmosphere. The school emphasizes small classes and biblically based instruction rooted in Christian values, and graduates have gone on to universities in Japan and abroad. Community life includes a range of events and activities such as Sports Day, school performances, and campus celebrations. Parent involvement is organized around scheduled Parent-Teacher Conferences and family participation in school events. The school is accredited through ACSI (Association of Christian Schools International).
