Kunimoto Gakuen was founded in 1942 and has a long history within Tokyo's private education sector. KAIS was established in April 2020 as a brand-new program within Kunimoto Gakuen, offering both the Alberta curriculum and the Japanese local curriculum starting from Grade 7. KAIS is a six-year, all-girls program located in Tokyo. KAIS holds Alberta Education Tier 3 accreditation, enabling graduates to receive the Alberta high school diploma, while Kunimoto Gakuen awards a Japanese diploma as well.
