Let the school know you're thinking of applying — they can share their prerequisites and help you through the process.
It's best to ask — circumstances can change at any time.
1. Rolling admissions and timing. ACS has rolling admissions and accepts applications throughout the year for the current and next academic year. Applications begin October for the next academic year, and the Admissions Committee reviews completed checklists starting in January. Families are notified of decisions from February onward. Applications for the current academic year are reviewed within one week of the checklist being completed. 2. Review process. The Admissions Committee follows a three-step process: Preliminary Review—the submitted application, documents, and recommendations are reviewed; Admission Test—if the applicant meets the ACS admissions criteria, applicants based in Jordan may be invited for screening, and online interviews or screenings may be requested for families outside Jordan; Final Review—decisions are communicated to parents based on the application and screening results. 3. Admission criteria. There are two fundamental questions: will the applicant be successful at ACS, and can ACS adequately and appropriately support any needs the applicant may have? A comprehensive profile may include the current school's profile, reports from schools attended, online recommendations, MAP testing results (or other standardized assessments), a writing sample, language proficiency, an interview, Student Support screening, the applicant's age, and credits to meet graduation requirements (high school only). ACS also considers gender and nationalities to ensure a balanced and welcoming community. 4. Application materials and eligibility. Age cut-off dates are: Early Years 4 years old before September 1; Kindergarten 5 years old before September 1; Grade 1 6 years old before September 1; As of Grade 2, the cut-off date does not apply unless a significant discrepancy exists. The application fee is USD 150, non-refundable and non-transferable. Required documents include: latest school report from the current school year (when applicable); all reports for the 2023-2024 school year in one PDF file; all reports for the 2022-2023 school year in one PDF file; student photo (headshot); copy of passport to verify nationality and age; online recommendations for applicants of Kindergarten through Grade 12; all documents must be in English (non-English documents must be translated). OpenApply is used for online applications and a OpenApply mobile app is available for families.
