ACS Amman was founded in 1955 when Mr. and Mrs. Ben Parker opened their living room to provide an American education for local and international families. The inaugural class consisted of 12 students in a single classroom. It grew into an independent, non-profit day school and expanded beyond the Parker residence as demand increased. Today the campus features about 75 classrooms and serves more than 800 students from more than 45 nationalities, all within an English-medium U.S. curriculum.
ACS Amman is a vibrant, multicultural community with students and families from more than 45 nationalities. The school's culture emphasizes international collaboration and cultural exchange through diverse programs and events. Students regularly participate in international competitions, sports events, arts performances, and service initiatives that connect ACS to a broader global community. The community is anchored by active partnerships among students, parents, faculty, and staff.
The Parent-Teacher Group (PTG) at ACS serves as the cornerstone of the school's community. Dedicated volunteer parents promote open communication and collaboration among parents, teachers, and administrators. This collaboration creates a strong support network and a positive, collaborative school culture. The PTG organizes a range of events and initiatives throughout the academic year, including workshops, informational sessions, and social events. All funds raised by PTG events are reinvested directly into the school to subsidize activities and procure items that enhance the student experience. The PTG also serves as a formal channel for parent involvement in school life.
