The Jubilee School Project was announced in 1977 during the Silver Jubilee celebrations for His Majesty King Hussein and it was affiliated with the Noor Al Hussein Foundation as a major project. In 1984 Queen Noor assumed responsibility for implementing the project to commemorate His Majesty's Silver Jubilee. The Jubilee School opened in 1993/94 as the first institution in the Arab region dedicated to academically gifted and high-achieving students. In 1999 the School was annexed to the King Hussein Foundation, a non-governmental, non-profit institution established by Royal Decree, representing His Majesty's humanitarian heritage. The Jubilee Institute was launched to encompass both the Jubilee School and the Jubilee Center for Excellence in Education (JCEE).

The community features a Scientific Research Unit, University Counseling, and a boarding program, with about 10% of students living in campus dormitories.
