Whitman Academy offers governance and leadership opportunities that foster academic curiosity and collaboration. The Student Council represents students from grades 7-12 and enables them to initiate and lead activities through partnership with faculty. The Student Leadership Program provides training, mentorship, and service-oriented experiences for student leaders. In addition, a variety of clubs—Rubik's Cube Club, Chess Club, Knitting Club, Personality Theory Club, and Philosophy Club—support critical thinking and discussion beyond the classroom.
The arts program includes Choir and Music Band, Drama & Theater, and Creative Writing. Visual Art is encouraged through drawing and painting, and students participate in Drama & Theater productions and a Music Ensemble. A Creative Writing & Media Club provides opportunities for storytelling and media creation. Together, these offerings support creative expression across performance, visual arts, and literary work.
Whitman Academy provides social and hobby opportunities through a range of student-led activities and athletics. Athletics include Soccer, Running Club, Netball, Volleyball, Basketball, Ultimate Frisbee, and Cheer & Tumbling. Whitman Academy is a licensed international Christian school in Amman, Jordan, serving students in grades 1–12. The school operates as a day program and is led by Head of School Dan Nichols. The campus is located in a quiet West Amman neighborhood and began in 1994, founded by expatriate families and an experienced American teacher. The school offers English-language instruction and provides an American-style college-preparatory program, including AP courses and SAT testing, with graduates pursuing studies in the USA, Korea, Europe, and Australia. The student body is about 239 pupils from over 22 countries, in small classes that emphasize personalized learning, character formation, and servant leadership. Whitman Academy emphasizes faith, service, and global citizenship through a balance of academics, spiritual formation, and extracurricular life, including Student Council, leadership programs, and service projects.
