Parent Experience

Community, involvement and what it's like to be a parent at this school

History

Galaxy International School is recognised and authorised by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan as a non-profit educational institution established to implement a new educational model aligned with national and international standards. In 2018, the school was awarded the status of an international school. Galaxy became a Cambridge International School on 27 October 2015, enabling Cambridge Primary, Lower Secondary, Upper Secondary (IGCSE), and Cambridge Advanced (AS/A Levels). The school holds memberships with COBIS (since December 2016) and CIS (since September 2022), and is affiliated with BILIM ORDA (established 1997) and UNESCO Kazakhstan Federation of UNESCO Clubs.

Community

Galaxy International School maintains an active, values-driven community focused on developing students as individuals. It aims to foster intellectual curiosity, promote meaningful reflection, and involve students in various extracurricular activities to build well-rounded global citizens. Regular home visits by faculty support a close home–school partnership, and parents are encouraged to attend school events including Parent Teacher Conferences and student concerts.

Parent-Teacher Association

Parent Representative Group exists. Parents are important members of our school community whose role plays a vital part in the progress of their child; they participate in committees such as the Catering Services Quality Assurance Committee, established at the start of each academic year. Parental involvement is welcomed at all times.
