Fees
Application fees

- A one-time, non-refundable registration (application) fee of USD 300 is required for each new student; this fee is payable when the completed application is submitted.

Tuition fees by year group and term

- The school bills tuition by academic term (three terms). The school applies a higher first-term rate for the first full term a student attends; partial‑term enrollments are charged on a pro‑rata basis using fixed percentages (see Billing schedule below). A separate Capital Fund fee is charged by term for eligible age groups. Exact grade-by-grade or per-term tuition amounts for the 2026/27 academic year (and for 2025/26) are not published as a public, itemized fee schedule.

- Historical published figures appear in older third‑party profiles (for context only): one aggregated listing from 2019/20 showed an approximate Preschool annual fee of USD 5,300 and a higher annual fee listed for elementary/secondary (approx. USD 22,500) — these are historical reference points and not current published rates for 2025/26 or 2026/27. Exact, current per-grade and per-term tuition amounts must be obtained from the school's current fee schedule.

Billing schedule and payment terms

- Terms and partial‑term billing:
- Two weeks enrollment or less = 20% of the term fee.
- More than two weeks, up to four weeks = 40% of the term fee.
- More than four weeks, up to six weeks = 60% of the term fee.
- More than six weeks = 100% of the term fee.

- First-term rule: every student must pay the higher first‑term fee for the first complete term in school; the pattern of higher/lower term fees and capital fund fees follows the same rule.

- Discounts for early/full payment:
- Discounts of USD 100 are given for full term payments received on or before the due dates.
- An additional USD 200 discount is given if the full annual payment is completed on or before 1 October (a total possible discount of USD 500 for eligible students). Discounts do not apply to preschool programs or scholarship students; if a student withdraws before year end, discounts already applied are reversed.

- Payment deadlines and consequences:
- Payment or arrangement for payment must be made on or before the published due dates. Students will not be allowed in class if financial matters are not completed. Student evaluations, official records, and other communications may be withheld until fees are paid or payment arrangements are made.

Capital Fund

- A Capital Fund fee is charged to support school facilities and development. Students who deposited USD 4,000 before 1 July 2004 are exempt from ongoing Capital Fund charges; no new Capital Fund deposits are accepted. The Capital Fund fee is charged per term in the same pattern as tuition.

Boarding fees (if applicable)

- QSI International School of Bishkek operates as a day school; no boarding programme or boarding fees are published. Boarding fees are not applicable.

Other costs and routine additional charges

- Registration / application fee: USD 300 (one-time, non-refundable).

- Lunch / snack program: the lunch program is separate from tuition; monthly lunch fees are paid directly to the kitchen staff before each month begins.

- Books and supplies: textbooks are loaned to students; families are expected to supply pencils, pens, erasers, paper, notebooks, backpacks, indoor shoes and other basic supplies.

- Extra‑curricular activities and trips: many extracurricular activities are not included in the standard tuition; some activities, clubs or field trips carry separate, modest fees charged as needed.

- Uniforms: no uniform fee or compulsory uniform charge is listed in the school information packet; families should expect standard personal supply costs as listed above.

Refund information

- Partial‑term withdrawal refunds follow the pro‑rata partial‑term schedule (20%/40%/60%/100% as above) for students who leave before a term ends. If a student is enrolled less than six weeks during the school year, fees are assessed as the appropriate percentage of the higher first term fee.

- There is no reduction of school fees for routine absences (including home leave) unless a student officially withdraws. Registration fee is non‑refundable and not charged again upon re‑entry.

- Force majeure policy: in the event of a force majeure that causes withdrawal, fees already paid in full for the school year will not be refunded (and unpaid fees remain due); appeals are handled by the Advisory Board.

Fee payment options

- Accepted methods: payments may be made by check or by bank transfer. For US Dollar checks drawn on banks outside the USA, a USD 100 charge applies to cover collection delays and bank charges. No public listing for credit card payment as a regular tuition option is published in the school information packet.

Note on tuition amounts and availability of a current fee schedule

- A detailed, grade‑by‑grade, per‑term or per‑year numeric fee schedule for the 2026/27 academic year (and for 2025/26) is not published in the school materials that are publicly available; public school information and admissions documents provide fee policy, payment terms, and other charge categories, but the school's current numeric tuition table by age/grade and by term is not listed in those public documents. Historical aggregated listings and third‑party directories provide older or estimated annual figures (see historical reference above), but these are not a current itemized fee schedule for 2025/26 or 2026/27. For purposes that require exact per‑grade or per‑term tuition figures for a specific academic year, the school's current fee schedule must be consulted.

Wellbeing

Social and Emotional Learning (SEL)

Counseling is provided to help elementary students adjust, develop social skills, and receive extra support when needed. The elementary teachers and counselor work to create and provide a comprehensive social emotional learning program for all students. The Preschool program includes a social-emotional development focus within Frog Street curriculum. Success Orientations take into account the 'whole child' and are taught across virtually all areas of the curriculum. These orientations are evaluated independently from academics and reinforced across the school.

Special Educational Needs (SEN)

Elementary Student Services include Counseling, Intensive English, and Learning Support. A regional Learning Support Coordinator helps provide additional learning support and accommodations for students identified with special educational needs. Intensive English classes are smaller than mainstream classes to target individual needs and support English language development. The Learning Support program may include curriculum accommodations and modifications when necessary to help students succeed in the QSI environment.

English as an Additional Language (EAL)

Intensive English classes are provided for students who do not speak English as a first language. Intensive English classes are smaller than mainstream classes to allow targeted support for individual needs. The program aims to develop speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills in English. Students may also study Russian, French, or Kyrgyz as a foreign language, with host language support for native and non‑native speakers.

Mental Wellbeing

Elementary counseling ensures all students are well adjusted and receive extra social‑emotional support. The comprehensive social-emotional learning program supports students' mental wellbeing. The Success Orientations emphasize personal wellbeing as part of everyday learning and are integrated across the curriculum. The Preschool social-emotional development focus also contributes to students' emotional wellbeing. The school adopts a whole‑child approach through these programs.

Safeguarding

QSI Bishkek adheres to the CEESA Safeguarding and Child Protection Statement and Commitments, prioritizing safeguarding and child protection in all operations. CEESA requires safeguarding policies, regular onsite training, and safe recruitment practices at all schools. The CEESA framework includes a Child Safeguarding and Protection Program and Child Protection Instruction. Teachers educate students on safety and safeguarding, aligning with the Success Orientations (e.g., concern for others, group interaction, and responsibility). The school maintains a policy handbook and a child protection team to respond to concerns.
