History

Silk Road International School has provided education in Kyrgyzstan since 1999 and has been under independent Kyrgyz ownership since June 2020. It is a Cambridge International School offering the full Cambridge pathway from Cambridge Primary through Lower Secondary to Cambridge Advanced for students aged 4 to 18 from over 30 countries. The school focuses on locally relevant subjects and developing independent thinking and creative problem solving. A modern English-language Kindergarten facility is offered.

Community

SRIS community programs include a Green Team of volunteers who organize monthly charity fundraisers, campus clean-ups, and participation in school events. Music classes for Pre-School through Grade 5 are taught by a specialist, with after-school vocal and instrumental lessons available. Drama and Theatre Studies engage Lower and Upper School students in dramatic expression through various techniques and productions, and encourage sharing of cultural heritage. Handicraft for Lower School uses traditional and modern techniques to foster creativity and connect students with regional craftsmanship.
