Admissions

How to apply, waitlist information, and financial support

Admissions Process

1. Applications for grade 10 admission are open for the 2025/2026 academic year from June 25, 2025 to June 30, 2025 at 10:00. The admission is conducted by competition. This process applies to entering the general secondary education program in grade 10.

2. To apply for the grade 10 competition, the applicant's legal guardian must register the applicant in the Unified Admissions to Grade 10 e-service on latvija.gov.lv. The guardian completes the electronic registration and submits the required information. The system records the applicant's data for the competition. If the guardian cannot use the online service, there are on-site options at the Lyce.

3. The legal guardian may apply in person at the Lyce if no authentication methods are available. The registrar enters the information provided by the legal guardian into the electronic database and prints the completed application. The printed application is then handed to the legal guardian.

4. Participation in the competition involves informing applicants about personal data processing and the purposes for which personal data will be used, in accordance with external regulatory acts. The Lyce ensures that data processing complies with these rules. This information is provided to ensure transparency.

5. The admissions process for grade 10 is conducted by an admissions committee appointed by the Lyce's director. The committee provides information about the Lyce's program and the admissions procedures. It verifies candidate eligibility and creates the list of admitted candidates, marking those who pass as “Recommended for admission.” It prepares a protocol for the admission decision and collects the required documents, while ensuring the confidentiality of personal data.

6. Ranking for grade 10 admission is based on the total points from the primary education certificate, including the Latvian language, foreign language, and mathematics scores. Additional points from other subjects listed in the certificate may be considered. The total points determine the order of admission.

7. If several applicants have the same total points, priority is given to the candidate with the higher foreign language score on the primary education certificate. This tie-break rule ensures that stronger language performance is favored. The Lyce applies these rules when forming the grade 10 admission list.

8. The Lyce announces the contest results by posting the list of applicants on the Lyce's site from July 1, 2025 at 10:00 until July 4, 2025 at 10:00. Updated lists are posted on July 9, 2025 at 10:00 and July 14, 2025 at 10:00. Applicants can review their status during these periods.

9. After the results, document submission occurs in accordance with applicable regulations. Applicants provide the required documents to complete enrollment. The Lyce processes these documents in line with regulatory requirements.

10. If an applicant who did not participate in the Lyce's grade 10 competition applies after July 14, 2025, the Lyce registers the application in accordance with regulatory requirements. The application is evaluated according to the Lyce's admission criteria and placed on the ranking list based on the points obtained. The process follows the same evaluation standards as other applicants.

11. If documents are not submitted by the specified deadline, the place is offered to the next applicant. This ensures timely processing and fairness. The Lyce may reallocate the place to an alternative candidate as required by regulations.

12. Admission to the Lyce's grade 10 program is granted by the director's order after all required documents are submitted. The order finalizes enrollment for the student. The process completes once the student receives the director's order.
