Application / entry fees
- Payment of MLF network entry rights is required at first registration: USD 1,500 for Primary, USD 2,100 for Collège, USD 2,300 for Lycée.
Annual tuition structure (2026/27 academic year)
- Tuition is composed of two parts: a portion payable in US dollars and a portion payable in Lebanese pounds (LBP).
- The US-dollar portion for 2026/27 is USD 3,000 per year for all levels from nursery (PS) through terminale.
- The Lebanese-pound portion for 2026/27 is set by the national tariff procedure and had not been finalized at the time the school issued its 2026/27 financial annex; previous published LBP reference amounts included 230,000,000 LBP for Primary and 240,000,000 LBP for Secondary in an earlier year.
How tuition is billed (per term / payment instalments)
- Annual tuition (the total of the USD part plus the LBP part) is billed in three periods (three installments) each school year. Invoices are issued in the following sequence: an initial call for funds sent from around 30 September (an advance), a second-period invoice issued on 1 February that regularizes the first-period advance, and a third-period invoice issued in April. Each invoice is payable within 15 days of its issue. An advance equal to 10% of the prior year's tuition is required in the re-enrolment/registration process.
- Because tuition is billed by period, the per-term amount equals the share of the annual total allocated to that period on the invoice; the school issues the exact per-term amounts on the official invoices once the LBP portion is fixed.
Payment terms, penalties and late payment
- All invoices are due within 15 days. If payment deadlines are missed, the school sends two email reminders; persistent nonpayment triggers formal notice and may lead to a 5% penalty on overdue amounts and potential recovery procedures. The school allocates payments to the oldest debt first and may withhold re-enrolment if prior-year debts remain unsettled.
Deposit, cancellation and refund rules
- When a family withdraws an application or cancels an enrolment in writing before 30 June of the preceding year, the advance is refundable; if cancellation occurs after 30 June the advance is retained by the school. Any trimester already started is fully due; departures during a term do not give entitlement to a pro rata refund for that term. Overpayments (trop-perçus) are refundable on written request in cases of definitive departure, subject to applicable prescription rules.
Boarding / accommodation
- The Grand Lycée Franco‑Libanais does not operate boarding facilities; transport, catering and extra-curricular service providers are run by independent companies and are invoiced separately by those providers.
Other mandatory and optional fees
- Examination fees for national/state examinations (for example certain collèges/lycée exam sessions) are charged in addition to tuition where applicable.
- Parent committee subscription: a parental committee fee of 500,000 LBP per pupil per year is charged (invoiced in the first term if the option is selected).
- Solidarity fund (optional): families may opt to contribute annually; suggested contribution levels are listed in either LBP or USD (examples shown include 3,000,000 LBP / 30 USD; 6,000,000 LBP / 60 USD; 9,000,000 LBP / 90 USD, or a free amount above).
- Other occasional or optional charges that may be billed during the year include: school trips and pedagogical outings, discovery classes, ID and class photographs, language-certification or exam preparation fees, document translation or certification costs, non-mandatory medical visits, replacement costs for lost or damaged school property, and extra-curricular activities. These items are invoiced when the service is provided.
Uniforms, books, materials and catering/transport costs
- Uniforms, school books, individual supplies, catering (canteen) and school transport are charged separately: books and supplies lists are published and costs are invoiced or payable according to the schedules indicated by the school; catering and transport are provided by external companies and are billed separately by those companies. Photocopying, special materials for courses and certain activity fees may be charged during the year.
Refund specifics
- The advance deposit is refundable if formal cancellation occurs before 30 June of the preceding year; after 30 June the deposit is kept by the school. Refunds of overpayments are processed on written request when a pupil leaves definitively; legal prescription rules apply. No pro rata refunds are issued for a term already started.

The Grand Lycée Franco-Libanais (GLFL) is a Mission Laïque Française-contracted school in Lebanon, part of the MLF AEFE network. It blends the French curriculum with Lebanese programs, preparing students for the Lebanese Brevet, the Diplôme National du Brevet, the French Baccalaureate, and the French International Baccalaureate (BFI). In collège and lycée, Seconde and above follow official French programs with a Lebanese Complementary Program; the OIB is offered from Seconde, emphasising Arabic. Optional LV3 languages include Spanish, German, Italian, Arabic, Latin; plus Cinema-Audiovisuel and Arts Plastiques.
