Academic and Intellectual

International Cambridge Curriculum – Overview. In 2011 Lyce9e Michel Lucius launched international classes taught in English and is a fully accredited Cambridge Assessment International Education school. Our ethos is to foster international mindedness in a nurturing, academically challenging environment and to offer a wide, flexible range of subjects that support integration into Luxembourg7s society and language development. The curriculum follows Cambridge standards and leads to internationally recognised qualifications, with lower secondary (Key Stage 3) preparing for the International GCSE and upper secondary (Key Stage 4 and Key Stage 5) leading to AS/A-levels, with possible equivalence to Luxembourge2s diplf4me de fin de9tudes secondaires. Entry requirements include English-language assessment for each IEC year group.

Arts and Creative

Section Production musicale: In the pathway from 4e GPM to 1re GPM you discover how to produce music and mix live in concerts. You learn about the institutions and professions in the music and culture sector and the basics of music theory in a practical way, together with key mathematical and physical concepts relevant to music. The section is practice-oriented, with opportunities to collaborate on projects in the music industry, and no prior music experience is required to enroll. More information: COMING SOON.

We provide an inclusive environment where students from around the world feel at home and support their integration into Luxembourge2s society by developing language skills and ensuring they are part of the whole school community. Entry requirements include English-language assessment to determine suitability for each IEC year group.

Social and Hobbies

More than school extracurricular activities: In addition to formal learning, a range of extracurricular activities are offered. Participation helps students discover interests and talents, supports learning, encourages effort and responsibility, and develops creativity, autonomy, self-esteem and sense of community. After-school activities include an Extracurricular Activities Brochure with a wide array of activities to suit every interest. Jugendtreff provides a space to hang out and take part in activities such as table soccer, darts or board games, and to produce films using camera equipment and greenscreen; there is also a room with a laser cutting machine, a sewing machine, a 3D printer and more.

Community and Service

Fair Trade School: Lyce9e Michel Lucius is committed to fair trade, guaranteeing fair and dignified working conditions for producers and workers in Africa, Asia, Latin America and the Caribbean. It highlights fair trade through annual projects and encourages Mini-Entreprises to consider sustainability, helping students become engaged and involved citizens and promoting values such as respect, compassion and commitment. Duke of Edinburgha0International Award: The Award is open to people aged 1424 and offers Bronze, Silver and Gold levels. Students sign up by submitting the provided documents and then work to meet goals in four areas (voluntary work, skills, sports and expeditions), with hikes and an annual award ceremony.

Elevate!: Conversations on Teaching and Learning and our Teacher Learning Communities Elevate! support teacher professional development. Duke of Edinburgha0International Award: The school offers the programme to students aged 1424 with Bronze, Silver and Gold levels; participants complete required hours and hikes, and there is an award ceremony.

Located in central Luxembourg City, Lycée Michel Lucius International School is a state-funded institution with a 50-year history that now offers an English-language Cambridge curriculum alongside a French-language secondary track. The primary section, established in 2017, serves around 1,500 students from more than 70 nationalities, supported by over 150 teachers. The school provides Cambridge Primary, Lower Secondary, iGCSEs and AS/A Levels, preparing students for university study with internationally recognised qualifications. An English-language stream launched in 2011 complements Luxembourg's local system and is fully accredited by Cambridge Assessment International Education. The school also offers a French-language track in the Enseignement Secondaire Général, with lower and upper strands including sections such as health sciences, music production and social sciences. Facilities include classrooms, library facilities, a sensory room, a psychomotricity space and a Nurture Group. An extracurricular programme features arts production and clubs, including the Duke of Edinburgh Award and Fair Trade initiatives.
