Curriculum

The German School Kuala Lumpur (DSKL) delivers an education based on the German national curriculum, specifically referencing the syllabus of the Federal State of Thuringia and core curricula from the Standing Conference of Ministers of Education and Cultural Affairs.

The school structure comprises a four-year Primary School, a one-year Orientation Stage (Year 5), Secondary Level I (Years 6-9), an Introductory Stage (Year 10), and a two-year Upper Secondary / Qualification Phase (Years 11-12).

DSKL offers a range of German school-leaving qualifications. Students can attain the "Hauptschulabschluss" (Secondary School Leaving Certificate) at the end of Year 9, and the "Realschulabschluss" (O-Level equivalent) after Year 10. The highest qualification offered is the German International Abitur (DIA), an internationally recognized university entrance qualification. The curriculum incorporates bilingual instruction, with history taught in both German and English from Year 8, and physics taught exclusively in English from Year 9.
